Tryout: Studies of Light and Wind
In preparation for the performance evening Intricate Interplays at Korzo in The Hague on November 30th, Marije Baalman is working in GROND’s blackbox for a few days with brand new light objects, wind machines and spinning paper objects. During these rehearsal days, she is joined by Dieter Vandoren and Ludmila Rodrigues, who bring drone music and inflatables to the performance. On this Sunday early evening, you are invited to join a tryout of this theater for the senses and give feedback to the process. There are two sessions, one at 17h and one at 19h30.

Intricate Interplays
The fruits of iii’s unique incubator program iii is an artist-run, community platform supporting new interdisciplinary practices linking performance, technology and the human senses. Their Intricate Interplays create an operatic experience in which a selection of performative installations are made in and around iii's unique incubator program. During the evening, these selected works will be presented for the first time together forming an intricate interplay, and blurring the lines between individual and collective work. The works are woven and bound together into a new experience by overlapping and recombining to create a new dramaturgy in which they can coexist - creating a polyphonic experience between the human, technology and the senses.

Holding the Wind in Your Hands in exhibition Double Echo of Time
Featuring Artists : Marije Baalman, Ludmila Rodrigues, Stephanie Pan, Yun Lee, Wei-Chieh Shih The exhibition “Double Echo of Time” is based on the history between the Netherlands and Taiwan. By revisiting archives such as “De dagregisters van het Kasteel Zeelandia” and “The Formosan Encounter”, this multidisciplinary exploration breathes new life into lesser-known historical records, bringing forgotten histories to light. This exhibition consists of two works, Holding the Wind in Your Hands and Glitch in the Weave, created by four Dutch artists and one Taiwanese artist during their residency at Soulangh Cultural Park. The artists use digital tools and various storytelling methods to reveal the power dynamics that determine which stories endure the test of time. Both works reinterpret archives in different ways. Incorporating elements of 17th-century maritime transportation and the strongest natural forces at sea—ships and wind—Holding the Wind in Your Hands invites viewers to interact with them, while Glitch in the Weave emphasizes the bias in historical narratives and the power dynamics that determine which stories endure. This exhibition is curated by Wen Chin Fu supported by Lam Lai and is co-produced between iii (instrument inventors initiative) in the Netherlands and Soulangh Cultural Park.

What the VAT?
Filing taxes isn’t the most pleasurable part of being a freelance artist. In this workshop we will make it a little easier by explaining the workings of Omzetbelasting, also known as BTW or VAT. Which rates should apply for selling a work of art, giving a lesson or a performance? Why is the gallery’s invoice so complicated to read? How do you invoice a client in another country? Should I apply for the small-entrepreneurs-rule? VAT on which costs is deductible? How can I avoid paying VAT on purchases from other EU-countries?
