Light tests with the cocoon

With Kobakant in Berlin; November 5 - 7, 2015

With the basic cocoon built, we did experiments with light, both shining from the outside onto the cocoon, and shining from the inside. From these experiments we decided that it would be interesting to have both light from the outside onto the cocoon, which makes the cocoon less transparent, and light from the inside, from the performer's costume, which will make the cocoon somewhat transparent.

Textile sensor tests

With Kobakant in Berlin; November 5 - 7, 2015

After determining the shape and construction, we experimented with various ways of sensing the interaction of the performer with the cocoon and the changing of shape of the cocoon. After trying sensors knitted from conductive yarn, as well as conductive stretch fabric, the latter proved to give the best results in terms of sensitivity.
